The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in collaboration with agriculture stakeholders and development partners are organizing the 2nd National Ecological Organic Agriculture (NEOA) Conference to take place at St. Gaspar’s Conference Centre in Dodoma from the 19th and 20th October, 2021.
This conference follows the first successful National Organic Agriculture Conference which took place in 2019 and brought together more than 300 participants from the within the country (public and private sectors, civil society, academia, farmers and media) and abroad.
The 2nd NEOA Conference will be reflecting on the theme “Accelerating Ecological Organic Agriculture Uptake for Sustainable Food Systems “, which drives the following conference objectives:
- To assess the implementation of the 2019 EOA stakeholders Call for Action
- To significantly contribute to key policy processes, including the development of the National EOA Strategy, contribute to the review of the National Agriculture Policy (2013), the Seed Act (2003) and other key policies and plans to further mainstream EAO therein.
- To share stakeholders’ experiences across the continent and beyond for wider adoption and scaling-up of EOA in the country.
- To strengthen stakeholders understanding of the biotechnology knowledge, management systems and procedures and its implication to the farming communities.
The 2nd NEOA Conference will comprise of speeches and presentations mostly by the government and agriculture experts as well as testimonials especially from the farmers (voices from the field). In addition, among the key presentations, there will be the policy documents to include the National Agriculture Policy of Tanzania which is currently under review. We shall have Business-
To-Business as well as Business-To-Consumers sessions and participants will be given an opportunity to exhibit and sell their organic related products and services.
